From the volcanic soils around Mount Vesuvius, this is a red wine to contend with.
A wine with a prestigious name and a history entwined with legend: God cried as he found a corner of heaven stolen by Lucifer and where his tears fell close to the beauty of the Bay of Naples, there grew the Lacryma Christi vines.
Piedirosso is a grape variety native to this region of Campania and mentioned by the famous Roman politician and historian Pliny.
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby red colour, intense fruity nose: mainly cherry and blackberry. Soft and round with a pleasing tannic finish.
Winemaking Notes
The wine is vinified in steel vats and then aged for seven months in French and Slavonian oak barrels. The combination of new and used barrels allows the character of Piedirosso to express itself.
