2008 Barbazzale Rosso Sicilia IGT

Lovely spicy yet elegant red from Sicily using the indigenous grape variety Nerello Mascalese.

Tasting Notes
Ruby red with fragrant perfumes of small red fruits, raspberries and blackberries and field flowers. Rich in flavour, soft tannins on the finish.

Fish soups and grilled meat skewers.

Winemaking Notes
90% Nerello Mascalese grapes plus other local grape varieties.
12 days' maceration. Malolactic fermentation in steel tanks and then about 50% of the wine is aged in barriques for 4 months.
