2010 Gewurztraminer Alto Adige DOC

Lovely mountain Gewurztraminer.

Bolzano is the major town in the north of the Italian region of Trentino-Alto Adige, close to the Alpine border with Austria. The area is still often referred to as the South Tirol, reflecting its Austrian past and most signs in the area show both languages.

The Gewurztraminer grape loves these cold mountain conditions and yet the "Bolzano basin" enjoys as much summer sunshine as the famous Bordeaux region in France. Perfect conditions to fully ripen the grapes for harvest.

Tasting Notes
Dark yellow colour in the glass; intense, aromatic nose with notes of rose petals, spices and tropic fruit; full, rich body and long aftertaste.

Winemaking Notes
Grapes harvested in October. Classic white vinification in steel tanks.
