Blanc de Morgez
Quite acidic grape grown in the Alps at high altitudes, also known as prié blanc. The vine has adapted best to the extreme conditions in the Valle d'Aosta, where it buds late and produces fruit ready for picking in early September, thus avoiding the worst of the winter weather here. Survived the phylloxera attacks of the late 19th century due to the sandy soils at this high altitude - vineyards reach above 3,900 feet.|
