The Curatolo family started their wine business in 1875 when Mr. Vito Curatolo Arini, who for several years had already been selling wines as a private producer, decided to build a proper wine company in the middle of his own vineyards. On the same spot today stands a modern enological plant where fine wines and Marsala wines are produced and exported all over the world.
Since the 1999 vintage, Antinori's ex-winemaker Alberto Antonini has acted as a consultant to the Curatolos and brought with him the modern winemaking skills that allow the local grape varieties to express their maximum potential. The resulting wines are uniformly excellent, combining the richness that Sicily can easily provide with the freshness only someone with Alberto’s experience can retain.
