Sandro Fay
Azienda Agricola Fay was founded in 1971 by Sandro Fay, expanding an already family-run wine business. The winery was built in San Giacomo di Teglio in that year, since when vineyards have been added to the estate and in 1998 Sandro's children Marco and Elena have joined the business. Valtellina is the highest area of mountain viticulture in Italy and Fay's vineyards of 14 hectares vary between 350-900 metres above sea level. The estate is mostly within the Valgella sub-zone of Valtellina. The native red grape variety here is Nebbiolo, known here as Chiavennasca.
